From Seed to Wildlings
Wildlings Cottage School began the way many beautiful things do, through a providential meeting and a shared longing. In the vast world of homeschooling, it was rare to stumble upon another family walking the Charlotte Mason path. So when Lilian met a fellow mom and introduced herself, the mom's surprised response, "Wow, I’ve never met another Charlotte Mason family in the wild before!" sparked both laughter and something deeper. That unexpected encounter inspired the name Wildlings, and from that moment, a vision began to grow.
Wildlings Cottage School was founded by a small group of homeschool mothers rooted in the conviction that a Charlotte Mason education which is a time-tested philosophy, rich in ideas, in wonder, and formed by habit and relationship, is not only possible, but deeply life-giving in community.
We are not a school in the modern sense but as homeschooling mothers ourselves, we longed for a space where our children could delight in learning alongside others, and where moms could walk together in the work of educating, growing, and nourishing our families in faith and joyful discipline. Out of this desire, Wildlings Cottage School was born a collaborative learning community rooted in the Classical tradition and shaped by Charlotte Mason’s enduring philosophy.
